Former Barcelona wing-back Adriano gave his thoughts on ex-team mate Arda Turan to Turkish media today and believes that the midfielder can triumph at Barça: "I think Arda has got what it takes to be first choice at Barcelona. When he first arrived, he couldn't play for six months because of the FIFA ban. After that, it was quite difficult for him to reach the same rhythm as the rest of the team. And he also had injuries to deal with. Those were difficult times for him. But I think Arda can overcome every obstacle and return to be the player we all know and love", said the 32-year-old, now on the books at Beşiktaş.
Adriano reflects on Barcelona days
As for the six seasons he spent at Camp Nou, Adriano admitted there were good times and bad: "I have good memories and some not so good ones. I was picking up injuries... If I hadn't had those fitness problems I would have felt better. I learned a lot thanks to Guardiola and Luis Enrique. I'm happy and grateful to Barça for giving me the opportunity to wear their shirt. I have some unforgettable memories. A lot of players would love to be in that team. I'm proud to have been part of the most successful era in the club's history with Guardiola. It's everyone's dream to play for Barcelona - and it was for me. I reached my objective. You feel a lot of pressure when you play for Barça, like you do at other clubs - you always have to be at 100 per cent", he ended.
