Humble Segunda B side Fuenlabrada were hit by a break-in on Monday night by thieves looking for the Real Madrid gate money.

Fuenlabrada, Real Madrid's opponents in the next round of the Copa del Rey, have suffered a break-in at their ground, the Fernando Torres stadium.

Break-in at Fuenlabrada coinciding with Real Madrid ticket sales

The attack on the Segunda B side coincides with the sale of tickets for their match against the current Liga and Champions League holders, with the thieves no doubt attracted by the thought of robbing the receipts for the 3,000 tickets that were sold on Monday.

But the criminals didn't get lucky - all they found were two empty money boxes and a mobile telephone, though they snaffled all three items.

Door to the offices at the Fernando Torres stadium broken

Fuenlabrada employees discovered this break-in on Tuesday morning, with the main door to the offices at the Fernando Torres stadium broken. The office staff called the police, who investigated the burglary, though their work only caused a 20 minute delay to the opening of the ticket office, although by then their was already a queue around the stadium as the fans look to get their briefs for the succulent encounter against the mighty Real Madrid.

With tickets on sale at between 25 euros and 80 euros, the thieves could have been looking at a jackpot of some 150,000 euros, but instead they came up empty-handed...
