Luca Zidane returns, seven youth players drafted
Zidane, who picked up FIFA's The Best Men's coach award in London last night, oversaw the session - the first of the week, alongside his technical team. The coach was able to welcome his son Luca back - he is now over his injury problems and trained with the other keepers. Seven players from the reserves or the youth teams were drafted to make up the numbers: Castilla players Tejero, Manu Hernando, Quezada, Cristo, Óscar and Franchu; along with Under-19s goalkeeper Moha Ramos.
Bale begins ballwork in Valdebebas
The players started off with a few laps of the pitch and exercises before starting ballwork drills, based around possession and pressing. Marcelo, Ramos, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Casemiro, Cristiano and Benzema were given permission to take the day off. Keylor Navas, Carvajal, Kovacic and Bale continue with their own respective recoveries. Bale trained apart from the rest but was able to complete some work with the ball.
