Zinedine Zidane discussed tomorrow's league trip to Girona with the press after training on Saturday afternoon. The coach avoided making any comments on the political situation in Catalonia. "I'm only thinking about the game, nothing else”. This will be Real Madrid's first official game at the Montilivi, where they have only previously played in a handful of pre-season friendlies. "It doesn't change anything for us", Zidane began, "We know that it's a difficult ground, all away games are tough and we are expecting a hard match. But we are not going there with the mindset that we've never played at Girona's stadium. We'll be going there to play a football match and we're happy to do so".
Madrid's non-stop schedule
How do you feel about playing on a Sunday night with a Champions League game on Wednesday?
The calendar is how it is, we'll be playing at 4pm on Sunday then we're back in action again on Wednesday. We've got two away trips one after the other and that's not great but we're used to it.
Have LaLiga said anything to the club about the situation in Catalonia?
No nothing at all, we haven't received any news from them. Tomorrow's match kicks off at 16:15. All I am thinking about is tomorrow's game. There's a lot of unrest and I'm not going to get involved, my only concern is the game, nothing else.
How is it looking for Keylor Navas and Gareth Bale? Will they have any chance of playing against Spurs?
We'll see how they are next week. They still haven't returned to training with the team so I can't say yes or no, it doesn't depend on me - it's depends on them and on how they are progressing with their recoveries. We'll take a look at them on Monday and decide then.
Madrid, best team, best club, for Zizou
You said that despite winning The Best coach award, you don't consider yourself to be the best coach in the world. Is Real Madrid the best team in the world?
I think Madrid are the best team in the world, I'm in no doubt about that. Last season we were the best side for all of the trophies we won. But we have to do the same every year. As a club, I'm sure it is.
Will you be rotating the team with the Spurs game in mind?
We'll see tomorrow, but it's true that we have to make changes because we have a lot of games to get through.
Is Gareth Bale in good spirits?
He's not so bad, he's feeling better now he's over his injury and is back training out in the open - not with us yet but he's out on the training ground. We'll see what happens with him next week.
