Dani Carvajal returned to training on Monday morning at Real Madrid's Valdebabas facility.
Carvajal takes to the turf
One month after he was diagnosed with a pericardium infection, the 25-year-old took to the turf along with fitness coach Javi Mayo.
On 25 October, Zinedine Zidane delivered the positive news that Carvajal has recovered from the virus that ruled him out since late September, and that he had returned to light training.
"Things are going well with Dani. It's all positive. Today he started on the bike and it takes time. I am happy because he is healthy, but there is a recovery process and he started a little yesterday. Today a bit more and we will see how it evolves," said the French coach.
Real Madrid medical staff eye steady progress
The medical staff at Real Madrid will not rush Carvajal back to serious physical exertion, as there is a risk that the infection could return. As a result, his work-load will increase incrementally until he is ready to re-join the squad.
