This morning, Real Madrid gave an update on Luca Zidane's shoulder injury. The goalkeeper has undergone surgery in Lyon, France after suffering a fracture to his right shoulder. The 19-year-old is now recovering and doctors have yet to set a date for his return.

Luca has been out of action since 14 October due to the problems with his shoulder which forced him to be dropped from the list for Madrid's league meeting with Getafe at the Coliseum. However, he returned to the training ground 10 days later on the 24th. One week later it transpires that he has suffered a relapse and has undergone surgery.

A club statement read: "Luca Zidane has been operated on for a Hill-Sachs fracture on his right shoulder. The operation was performed at the Jean Marmoz Hospital in Lyon by Dr. Gilles Walch, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services. Pending evolution."

The young keeper posted an image on his own Instagram account in which he appears in his hospital bed with his right arm in a sling with a brief caption: "Three months". In Luca's absence, Under-19s player Moha Ramos has stood in as the third choice keeper in the first team squad.
