Real Madrid the sixth most valuable squad
The Real Madrid squad has been ranked sixth in a CIES Football Observatory study on transfer values, which puts the overall worth of Los Blancos' first-team group at 903 million euros. The list is topped by Manchester City, whose squad is valued at 1.2 billion euros.
Film to be made about Kroos
A feature-length documentary about the life of Real midfield star Toni Kroos is to be released in 2019, with filming to begin next month. The project is to be directed by Leopold Hoesch, who has previously overseen films about basketball star Dirk Nowitzki and boxing's Klitschko brothers.
Cristiano opens another hotel
According to the CEO of the Pestana Group, José Theodósio, the new 'Hotel Pestana CR7 Madrid' is to open its doors in 2019. It will be situated on the centrally-located Gran Vía. Cristiano Ronaldo already has two hotels in his native Portugal: one in his hometown of Funchal and another in the capital of Lisbon.
Pepe fires barb at Real Madrid fans
Besiktas defender Pepe, who left Real Madrid in the summer after 10 years at the Bernabéu, has taken another swipe at his old club. "Real Madrid fans might be mad at me for what I will say," the Portuguese said on Monday. "People say they transmit enthusiasm to the team but I don't think they do."

On 7 November 1980, the magazine France Football named Real Madrid as European Team of the Year. The award, which was discontinued in 1991, went to Real in the wake of a 1979/80 season that saw Los Merengues do a LaLiga and Copa del Rey domestic double, and reach the semi-finals of the European Cup.
