Diario AS has gained access to the list of squad numbers assigned to the Spain squad for Saturday's friendly against Costa Rica at La Rosaleda. It will be Spain's first game wearing the controversial new kit designed for next year's 2018 World Cup and the players posed for a group shot before this morning's session at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. The photoshoot replaced the scheduled presentation of the new kit, which was cancelled, according to acting RFEF president Juan Luis Larrea "because of the media storm which has been generated".
Alberto Moreno given No.16, Luis Alberto, No.12
There are several changes to the squad numbers which Spain used in their most recent outings against Albania and Israel. Alberto Moreno and Luis Alberto, who have been called for the first time by Spain's senior side, will wear the number 16 (which Monreal wore against Israel) and 12 (which Viera wore against Albania), respectively.
Several players who missed recent games have been recalled - such as Álvaro Morata, Vitolo, Andrés Iniesta and Suso. The Chelsea centre-forward will wear the No.7 against Costa Rica, the number which Napoli's José Callejón had worn previously.
Vitolo has been assigned Pedro's No.11; Iniesta, who missed the Albania and Israel qualifiers through injury recovers his old No.6 from Nachowhile Suso, has been given the No.24.
