PSG captain, Thiago Silva, is pushing for Philippe Coutinho to join him at the French club instead of moving to Barcelona. The Spanish club pushed hard to sign the Liverpool midfielder in the summer, and it appeared as though the Brazilian was keen on a move too, but could not force the Premier League side to sell.
Silva is one of many Brazilian players in the squad, along with Neymar, Dani Alves, Maquinhos and Lucas Moura, and says, "I speak to him a lot. I hope that before the end of the season, for Christmas, we have a surprise. I hope he reflects, and that he thinks it over and that next year he can be with us. I always advise him but now the main thing is that he is making the best decision for his career." He made the statement on Telefoot before saying Neymar is trying to convince the 26-year-old to fly to Paris.
Despite PSG and Silva's efforts to sign the player, further reports suggest that Coutinho would prefer to play with Barcelona after spending time at Espanyol earlier in his career.
