Real Madrid have omitted Jesús Vallejo from the list of players submitted to FIFA for next month's 2017 Club World Cup. The centre-back has been left out so that Moha Ramos could be included as third choice goalkeeper. All of the participating teams are now known after Copa Libertadores champions Grêmio became the final club to book their place last night. FIFA have now published the squad lists for all of the seven teams involved in the tournament, which takes place between 6 and 16 December in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
All teams are allowed to bring a maximum squad of 23 players to the tournament. Vallejo's absence and the inclusion of Moha was the standout in Zinedine Zidane's squad list as Madrid attempt to defend the trophy they won in Japan last year.
Madrid to debut on 13th December in Abu Dhabi
Under FIFA rules, in case of injury, squads can be modified up to 24 hours before the team's first game at the event. Real Madrid make their debut in the semi-finals on Wednesday 13th December, meeting the winners of the match between Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds and the team to emerge from the preliminary round tie between hosts Al Jazira and Auckland City. That game will be broadcast live in Spain by La1 (18:00 CET).
