Carolina Portaluppi, daughter of Renato Gaúcho, the coach of Gremio, who have just been proclaimed champions of the Copa Libertadores, has caused a frenzy across social networks.
The 23-year-old swimwear model is a fan of wakeboarding, foot-volleyball and kick-boxing and shares a multitude of photographs of her in various poses on her official Instagram account. She has already accumulated close to 900,000 avid followers.
The daughter of the coach of the team was quick to celebrate the Tricolor adding a third continental title to their history and posted a picture of her kissing the badge of her shirt with the message: "My heart is tricolor, thank you father, all the players, technical team and God!"
Portaluppi follows the team closely and was in the stadium for the second leg of the final against Lanús. In a message along with her photo in the press room ahead of the game:
"My heart goes with you, everything will work out, come back with the title."
Controversy on Gremio's pitch
A year ago Portaluppi became headline news in Brazil after being caught involved in a pitch invasion. The model had been sat next to her father and the players on the bench during the
semifinal of the Copa against Cruzeiro.
When Gremio eliminated their opponents with a 2-0 aggregate score, Carolina joined in the players' celebrations on the pitch.
After the encounter, when pictures were exposed of her hugging her father on the field of play, sanctions were imposed by the country's TAS, a fine of 8,100 euros. Gremio were also ordered to play their home match against Atlético Mineiro at a neutral venue.
