Atlético Madrid have their eye on the January transfer market and Florian Thauvin is a player they are keeping tabs on, according to L'Equipe. The French publication say that while Thauvin signed a contract in July until 2021 but could be forced to rethink his future with Marseille.
Thauvin has scored nine goals with 11 assists so far this season in 25 games in all competitions. The 24-year-old left Marseille to move to Newcastle but struggled through his spell with the Premier League side. he only played 16 games in total for the Magpies before making the move back to France.
The Frenchman has his sights set on a place in Didier Deschamps' squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia and can play as a second striker, as a playmaker or on either flank. According to L'Equipe, Atlético would try to incorporate Thauvin next summer with Antoine Griezmann's time at the club coming to a likely end.
