It’s turning out to be quite a season for Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international is hardly six months into his time at Liverpool and he is already a Kop idol, breaking club records and has been shortlisted as one of the three candidates for the CAF Player of the Year award. He’s won over his team mates as well as the fans and Simon Mignolet was full of praise for his team mate following the weekend win away at Bournemouth. Talking to the Liverpool Echo after the match, the keeper said that one of the things which have impressed him about the industrious Salah is that he remains just as level headed and hard working in spite of all of the praise he's getting.
Salah always gives everything he's got - Mignolet
“Mo is a superstar but he’s very much a team player. Even on Sunday, he was working so hard for the team, getting back and defending and helping out his full-back”, Mignolet explained after Sunday’s 0-4 win. “There’s no danger of him getting carried away. He’s very focused on his job. Teams know they have to look out for him but trying to stop him is very difficult. He’s got quick feet but he’s very strong too. You can’t knock over him and he suits the English style of play. [Belgium team mate] Radja Nainggolan he told me that Mo was a brilliant player. I wasn’t expecting him to score so many goals, especially as a winger, but he’s done so well. To score 20 goals already is a great achievement; let’s hope he stays fit and keeps on scoring for us”.
