Chinese Super League (CSL) side Hebei China Fortune has denied making an offer to Alexis Sanchez. On Sunday, a report by TheSun claimed that the club had offered the Chilean £500,000-a-week to join them. However, on Tuesday, the team denied the information. 'We have never made a bid or any offer for Sanchez. The Sun's story is fake news,' a club official told Southern Metropolis Daily.
This week, it was revealed that Hebei approached Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano. Reportedly, the Argentinian move is set to be valued at 10 million euros.
Pellegrini quoted as saying
Recently, Hebei hired the former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini. According to the report by TheSun, the Chilean coach said that Chinese football would be a perfect destination for Alexis. “If Alexis wants to come, we have a club for him right now. He can come to join us in China immediately,” Pellegrini was quoted by TheSun as saying. “Step by step Alexis has led a career with a lot of intelligence. He started in South America, always playing for big clubs. After that he played in Italy, Spain and now in the Premier League, which is the most powerful in the world. Alexis has always done things the right way. Chinese football is growing every day and the interest in going there is increasing all the time,” he said.
Possible Alexis reunion with Guardiola
At the end of the 2017/18 campaign, Alexis will be out of contract with Arsenal. The 29-year-old striker has been linked with a Manchester City move and a reunion with former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola. It’s still unclear if the Citizens will make a move in January for the Chilean.
