Julen Jon Guerrero, the son of legendary Athletic Bilbao Julen Guerrero, is set to join Real Madrid’s academy in January according to various reports.
Guerrero, 13, has been playing for Málaga’s youth sides for six seasons where he has won a number of awards for his play, which is very similar to his celebrated father: a left-footed attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, Guerrero Jr can also play as a striker.
The move has come about due to family reasons, with Guerrero’s daughter to continue her studies in Madrid the family decided to move wholesale from Málaga to the capital.
Athletic passed up opportunity to continue Guerrero legacy
Talks between the Guerreros and Madrid have been ongoing for some time and the Bernabéu has sent scouts to watch Julen Jon in action.
