Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona for a world-record 222 million euros in the summer and, despite scoring 17 goals and supplying 14 assists in his 20 appearances so far, has not had an easy first four months in the French capital.
He was embroiled in a high-profile spat with team-mate Edinson Cavani over penalty-taking duties earlier in the season - amid recurring talk of problems in the dressing-room - and has endured a frosty relationship with the local press.
And with speculation rife that the Brazilian could swap PSG for Real, Los Blancos' president, Florentino Pérez, has not shied away from links with the star.
"Being at Real Madrid would make it easier for Neymar to win the Ballon d'Or," Pérez told the Spanish radio station Cadena SER this month. "Real is a club that gives big players what they need."
