Real Madrid did not take long to have the ball in the back of the Barcelona net in El Clásico on Saturday, but saw Cristiano Ronaldo's header rightly disallowed.
Cristiano ruled offside after heading in for Real Madrid
In the second minute of the LaLiga clash at the Bernabéu, a right-wing corner was flicked on by Raphael Varane and nodded in off the bar by Cristiano from inside the six-yard box.
However, referee José María Sánchez Martínez was quick to chalk the goal off after the flag correctly went up for offside against the Real striker.
Diario AS's resident ref, former whistler Eduardo Iturralde González, said: "That's the best thing that could have happened to the referee and his assistant - getting the first testing incident right.
"They were right to rule it out."
