Potentially bad news for Isco and Asensio

Over the past two years we've seen messages being interchanged between Zinedine Zidane and Eden Hazard and how with the advent of each transfer window speculation increases about the Belgian joining Real Madrid. Now, it would appear that that time is not far off following declarations from the player's father stating that Hazard doesn't wish to extend his Chelsea deal as his desire is to play for Real Madrid. The Madrid strike-force isn't getting any younger and Florentino is now deeply regretting letting Kylian Mbappé slip through his fingers after the teenager didn't want to be third in the pecking order behind both Benzema and Bale and in the end PSG's money did the talking.

Hazard talent

There is no mistaking that Hazard is a fine player with a great burst of pace and highly technical and can play in behind the striker or on the left wing. He broke through the ranks with Ligue 1 outfit Lille, winning youth awards for most promising player in both France and Europe before moving to Chelsea. He also managed to pick up a fame for being somewhat prone to showboating and was even tarnished as being lazy in certain quarters but these are elements that have disappeared as the player grows and matures. Now at the age of 26 he's a Chelsea regular and having Marcos Alonso play behind him on the left at Stamford Bridge this has propelled Hazard to play some of his best football of his career.

Goal-shy

If any criticism could be currently levelled at the Belgian it would be his lack of goals with the 26-year-old averaging roughly one in four, not bad but not extraordinary either. On the other side of the coin however, he does provide a high number of assists and would be a fine player at the Bernabeu with class and bags of ability. A possible Hazard arrival would spell bad news for both Isco and Asensio who play in similar positions to the Belgian with Isco also being able to play in a somewhat deeper role. Asensio would certainly be the more worried of the two and that's the side of any potential deal that turns me off as the new import from Chelsea will always appear more attractive over the young national promise.
