Valencia - Juventus live: Champions League 2018/19

Real Madrid will play 12 times in January and February before their showdown with PSG in the Champions League with nine of those games taking place in January alone. The game that could make or break their season takes place on the 14th of February against Ligue 1's leaders with Zinedine Zidane's side having little time to ease back into things after December's Clásico defeat.

The marathon starts this Thursday against Numancia in Soria in the Copa del Rey, a competition that Real Madrid might contest more firmly than in previous seasons given the fragile state of their chances of a LaLiga win. The return of that game is on at the Bernabéu on the 10th and the week after that, provided they qualify for the next round, they will play in the last 16.

In LaLiga, they will play the last two games of the first half of the season against Celta Vigo on Sunday in Balaídos and against Villarreal on the 14. They will also do a double-header against Valencia-based sides, Marcelino's high flyers and Villarreal, and they will also welcome Real Sociedad to the capital before the PSG game.

As the assault on the three competitions they are fighting for begins, they are missing just Karim Benzema, who is suffering from a mysterious injury that reportedly happened after the Clásico despite speculation that the French striker injured himself on holidays over Christmas. Zidane is expected to mix and match his starting eleven with chances for the forgotten and rest for those who played the most during the first five months of the year.
