Kanté involved in car crash en route to Stamford Bridge

N'Golo Kanté estrelló su coche de camino a Stamford Bridge del Chelsea

The Chelsea midfielder tangled with a lorry on his way through the streets of London.

N´Golo Kanté had a major scare on Wednesday on his way to Stamford Bridge for the game against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. According to UK media Kanté's Mini was involved in a crash with a lorry as he drove through London, though the player wasn't hurt.

The midfielder, named best French player of 2017, was on King's Road, en route to Chelsea's ground when he hit the lorry. His Mini Cooper S was left with a wing mirror ripped off and damage to the left front wheel.

The player, who was one of the main men behind Leicester's remarkable Premier League title win, got out of his car unhurt after the incident, and was seen, in his Chelsea tracksuit, chatting to passers-by. Luckily he'd left himself plenty of time, and although he missed the team bus, he was able to sort out the paperwork with the lorry driver and drive himself straight to Stamford Bridge for the match.

Kanté: no need for Ferraris

Kanté is well rewarded as a top footballer, bringing in some half a million euros a month. But despite his fat pay cheques he isn't one to show off, and while most of his colleagues are driving round in luxury motors, Kanté is happy with a Mini Cooper S, which starts at just over £20,000 in the UK (22,500 euros)

"I've never been a car lover, when I was young my ambition was never to have a car or anything like that", said Kanté, who still has the Mini he bought while at Leicester. It will need a bit of bodywork now though.
