A late Rubén Castro goal for Real Betis that clinched a 3-2 win over Leganés was worth more than just the three points that took the verdiblancos into seventh place in LaLiga, only five points behind Real Madrid in fourth. For one canny fan, that victory for his beloved Betis meant a bookmaker's return of close to 10,000 euros.
The 25-year old had place a cumulator bet on a number of results coming in and the final match took place on Monday evening. A single 50 cent stake was multiplied as each of the nine results came in. Before the 82nd minute winner, the fan Agus had an option to cash out at around 4,000 euros but he held his nerve and was proved right to do so. And he posted a photo of his account to quell any doubters.
