It's official. The Barcelona website said their new signing, Yerry Mina, will wear the number 24 jersey, which was vacated by Jeremy Mathieu when he left for Sporting Lisbon in the summer. The Colombian, who is still awaiting his official transfer to Barcelona, will wear the same number that many greats have worn.
The likes of Fernando Cuoto, Carles Puoyl, Yaya Toure and even players in the team today including Sergi Roberto and Andres Iniesta have all donned the number 24 as the first ever Colombian to wear the blaugrana looks to make even half the impact that mant of those players did.
Barcelona will have received the transfer before the Real Betis game and he has been training with the first team for a few days now. Given Javier Mascherano's injury, Mina could travel to Seville at the weekend. He has not trained properly in a month, however, and while he worked with a physical trainer, he is still not fully fit.
