Lautaro Martínez, Racing's Argentinean striker who is highly coveted in Europe, surprisingly admitted to a possible interest from Real Madrid, in an interview with TyC: "I found out about Real Madrid this morning. I read some stuff and then my agent told me he wanted to speak to me". He went on to say he still hadn't actually spoken to him, because he "had had a couple of things to do".
Lautaro pursued by Atlético Madrid
Lautaro is also on Atlético Madrid's list of wanted players, with Simeone's scouts keeping a close eye on him. The striker said that he had a large amount of offers in the previous campaign but he had "decided to stay". "My idea was always to stay at this club. I won't allow anything to happen that isn't the best for Racing", he said.
Lautaro, the 20 year old pearl of Argentinean football, would be an interesting option for Real Madrid, who haven't fished in these waters since Higuaín who they signed from River.
