Following the disappointment of the defeat to Leganés in the Copa del Rey midweek, Real Madrid bounced back with an encouraging 1-4 victory over top four LaLiga rivals Valencia. After the third goal, scored by left back Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo may have surprised him with his choice of celebration.
Cristiano gives Marcelo a finger up
With Valencia pressing hard for an equaliser at 1-2, the Brazilian's well worked goal (nice interchange with Marco Asensio on the left) felt to Madrid fans like it was going to be enough to take all three points away from the Mestalla. The players looked relieved too and clambered upon each other in the usual team celebration. That was except for Cristiano (scorer of the opening two goals) who instead gave his goal-scoring teammate a finger up the bottom.
The photo of that surprise has been doing the rounds of social media with many asking what on earth the Portuguese star was thinking. Maybe we'll find out...
