Quantum Pacific Capital Ltd ("Quantum Pacific"), an active investment firm focused on Asia, Australia and North America has reached an agreement with Chinese based Wanda Group to buy their shares in Spanish football club Atletico Madrid. Shareholders of the Chinese corporation favoured pulling out on the initiative with the LaLiga side as the Hong Kong and Los Angeles based Pacific Group increase their shares in Atleti from 17% to 32% with the acquisition of the Wanda shares.

Miguel Ángel Gil and current club president Enrique Cerezo remain as major shareholders of the Spanish club.

Wanda Metropolitano

Despite the selling of their Atleti shares, the Wanda Group will remain as one of the club's leading sponsors and the new stadium will still be known as the Wanda Metrolpolitano. Atletico and Wanda will still be involved in the brand expansion of the football club in the Chinese market through Wanda Sports.
