Wanda Group sell Atleti shares to Quantum Pacific Group

Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo remain the major shareholders of Atlético Madrid but Wanda will remain as a main club sponsor.

Quantum Pacific Capital Ltd ("Quantum Pacific"), an active investment firm focused on Asia, Australia and North America has reached an agreement with Chinese based Wanda Group to buy their shares in Spanish football club Atletico Madrid. Shareholders of the Chinese corporation favoured pulling out on the initiative with the LaLiga side as the Hong Kong and Los Angeles based Pacific Group increase their shares in Atleti from 17% to 32% with the acquisition of the Wanda shares.

Despite the selling of their Atleti shares, the Wanda Group will remain as one of the club's leading sponsors and the new stadium will still be known as the Wanda Metrolpolitano. Atletico and Wanda will still be involved in the brand expansion of the football club in the Chinese market through Wanda Sports.
