Real Madrid to use James Rodriguez in Lewandowski deal

The Polish striker appears to want a move away from the Bundesliga to sign for Los Blancos and reports in Colombia state that James could be part of the operation.

Despite some recent improvement at the top end of the pitch, Real Madrid are expected to make some big moves in the transfer market this summer to strengthen their forward line. Links have been made with Bayern Munich's star striker, Robert Lewandowski, and reports coming out of Colombia suggest that James Rodriguez will be used to make that a reality.

James in Lewandowski part exchange

According to a report from Colombian media outlet RCN, with the big Polish goal-machine not keen to extend his contract with the Bundesliga giants, a huge money transfer is in the offing. The valuation is somewhere in the region of 150 million euros and to reduce this payment, the Real Madrid creative midfielder James Rodriguez - currently on loan with Jupp Heynckes' side - will be offered in part exchange.

By all accounts, Bayern are very pleased with the performances of the Colombian and would likely be interested in ensuring James' stay in Bavaria is extended. Florentino Pérez is a long-time admirer of Lewandowski and, along with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, is one of a few key striking targets for the forthcoming season.
