Girona were the latest league side to succumb to Cristiano Ronaldo's goal scoring prowess in LaLiga Santander after the Madeira born player bagged his fifth four-goal haul in the Spanish league. Cristiano now moves into second place in the "Pichihi" (LaLiga top scorer) ranking leapfrogging Luis Suarez by one goal with the Uruguayan on 21 goals. With 22 goals in the domestic campaign, the Real Madrid No. 7 is just three behind current top marksman Leo Messi on 25.

Real Madrid's Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates after scoring a goal during the Spanish league football match between Eibar and Real Madrid at the Ipurua stadium in Eibar on March 10, 2018.

With a discreet start to the first half of the season where Cristiano was only on target on four occasions, the striker has been relentless in recent weeks bagging 18 league goals in the second phase of the 2017/18 campaign. It's not just in LaLiga where the Portuguese forward has been prolific in front of goal with the striker netting 12 times in the current Champions League where his goals have been instrumental in Real Madrid progressing to the quarter final stage where they meet Juventus in April.

More league goals in 2018 than other European giants:

With his four goals yesterday Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 18 goals in 2018 (calendar year) which is one more than the league goals that Arsenal and AC Milan have bagged in the year, three more then Manchester United (15) in 2018, four more than Borussia Dortmund (14) and six more than Chelsea (12).
