Madrid derby set for Sunday 8 April

LaLiga has confirmed the fixture schedule for round 31 of the Primera División campaign - a weekend that sees Real Madrid host city rivals Atlético Madrid in the pick of the games. The match at the Santiago Bernabéu is to be played at 16:15 CEST on Sunday 8 April.

Gallas, Hazard and Real Madrid

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas reckons the Blues must face up to the prospect of star player Eden Hazard ending up at Real Madrid sooner or later. "His dream [as a kid] was to go and play for Madrid and maybe you have to accept it," the retired Frenchman told Goal.com on Monday.

Real to face Arsenal in Corazón Classic Match

Real Madrid are to play Arsenal in this year's edition of the LaLiga club's Corazón Classic charity fixture. The annual legends' match, which has previously seen the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and AC Milan visit the Bernabéu, takes place on 3 June, with a return clash in London also planned for September.

So far, the Gunners' confirmed participants are Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg, David Seaman, Emmanuel Petit and Gilberto Silva.   

Ronaldo, Mayweather to team up for the Toon?

A report in the UK media has made the staggering claim that boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is eyeing a bid to take Newcastle United off the hands of owner Mike Ashley, and is lining up Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo as his marquee signing.
