Real Madrid are pushing ahead with their policy of scouting and snapping up the best young talent in Brazil and after the signing of Flamengo forward Vinícius Júnior last summer for a fee of 45 million euros, the Bernabéu’s spotters have alighted their gaze on two of Fluminense’s most promising talents.

According to Globoesporte, Madrid are interested in bringing 18-year-old right back Wisney and 20-year-old forward Ramon to the Bernabéu this summer and after weeks of watching the youngsters in action are preparing an offer for the Brazilian club.

The deal that is closest to completion is that Ramon, who is expected to arrive on a year-long loan and join Castilla for Madrid to see how he adapts to the European game. A purchase option will be included in the agreement.

Wisney may not be as straightforward as Madrid hope his teammate will be, with Fluminense only keen on a six-month loan deal and other clubs, including Cagliari, also monitoring the defender. If Madrid are able to sign him for Castilla, they will also hold a purchase option on the player.

Vinícius Júnior the zenith of Madrid spending in Brazil

Madrid have been combing the Brazilian market increasingly in recent years and have signed eight players from the Brasileiro since 2012. The majority of those followed the same design Madrid are proposing for Wisney and Ramon: loan deals at Castilla. The exception to that format was Lucas Silva, who was bought from Cruzeiro in 2014 for 16 million euros and added immediately to the first team squad.

Wisney and Ramon could be the latest Brazilians to follow in the footsteps of Casemiro (2012, €5.3m), Willian José (2013 on loan, now at Real Sociedad), Pablo Teixeira (2013, on loan and now at Paranaense), Abner (2014, free transfer), Augusto (2016, €3m), Vinícius (2017, €45m) and Rodrigo Rodrigues (2017, €3m, who will join Castilla this summer).

In total, Madrid have spent €72.3m euros in the Brazilian market since 2012.
