Ibrahimovic tells Cristiano: "Try it from 40 metres"
"What planet are you from?" and "Goal of the century!" were just some of the reactions in today's AS to Cristiano Ronaldo's overhead worldie against Juventus. "He's comparable to Maradona and Pelé," was Bianconeri keeper Gigi Buffon's verdict, meanwhile. Yet the ever magnanimous Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn't quite so impressed. "It was a nice goal, but he should try it from 40 metres," he told ESPN, in a nod to his long-range bicycle kick for Sweden in a 2012 friendly with England.

Day off for squad after Juventus win
Having planted one foot firmly in the Champions League semi-finals with yesterday's 3-0 last-eight first-leg win in Turin, Real Madrid's players have been given a richly-deserved day off today. Zinedine Zidane's men then return to training on Thursday to begin preparations for the small matter of a Spanish capital derby against Atlético in LaLiga this weekend (Sunday, 16:15 CEST).
Zidane to CR7: I'll extend your career
According to L'Équipe, Zidane told Cristiano after Portugal's European Championship triumph in 2016: "If you listen to what I tell you and have belief in what I say, if you accept resting every so often, sitting out the odd game - if you don't mind doing that and believe me, you will prolong your career by a few years." Is 'Zizou' making good on that promise, you ask? Well, exhibit one must surely be the spritely spring in Ronnie's step as he pinged in last night's acrobatic effort...
Salah not a Real starter, says Adam
Mohamed Salah's form for Liverpool this season has led the Egyptian international to be linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona... where, if you ask Charlie Adam, the 37-goal man would spend his time warming those comfy racing-car seats in the dugout. "Will he get a game at Real Madrid? Will he get a game at Barcelona? I don't think he would," Adam told UK radio station Talksport this week.
On this day...
On 4 April 1981, the legendary Juanito netted Real Madrid's 3,000th LaLiga goal when he converted a penalty against Salamanca. He went on to plunder a hat-trick as Los Blancos ran out 3-1 winners.
