An arbitration panel has ruled that second division Fortuna Sittard must compensate Sunday Oliseh over his suspension for 'insubordination'.

Nigerian coach Sunday Oliseh has been vindicated by a Dutch arbitration panel after he was suspended in February by second-tier side Fortuna Sittard due to 'insubordination' and 'inadmissible actions'.

In the wake of his suspension, former Super Eagles captain Oliseh had said that his removal from the team was because of his refusal to participate in illegal activities.

"I confirm: Due to my refusal to participate in Illegal activities at Fortuna Sittard and violate the Law, I have been Suspended from my duties as Coach by the Foreign Owners of Fortuna," he wrote on his Twitter account.

However, the 43-year-old didn't reveal the activities he refused to participate in.

'Black money' payment

The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) ruled that Fortuna Sittard were guilty of paying Oliseh with 'black money'.

A 'black money' payment is an illegal retribution for a job done in which tax is not paid to the government, an action punishable in the Netherlands.

"Dutch court finds Fortuna Sittard guilty for not being a good employer to Sunday Oliseh and sanctions Fortuna. Most importantly The Knvb Court stated that Oliseh has not acted as a bad employee!" Oliseh posted on Twitter.
