British football has its collective fingers crossed after the news that Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage on Saturday.
Manchester United - the club Ferguson led to 38 trophies in a 26-year spell - stated that 'the procedure has gone very well' in a statement. Various players and clubs used social media to sent their support to Ferguson, 76, and his family.
Among those to send their best wishes were Ferguson's former players David De Gea, Michael Carrick, and Peter Schmeichel...
