Cristiano Ronaldo and Dani Carvajal are stepping up their recovery from injury in an attempt to reach full fitness ahead of the Champions League final against Liverpool on 26 May.
Ronaldo and Carvajal face race to fitness
According to the club, Ronaldo trained indoors after suffering an ankle injury in the process of scoring for Real Madrid in El Clásico on Sunday. Carvajal, who picked up an injury in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, was out on the pitch working one-on-one with club medical staff.
The players who started for Zinedine Zidane’s side against Sevilla on Wednesday evening took part in a recovery session. The rest of the squad, including most of the first-choice XI, were put through their paces in a more intense session ahead of the visit of Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.
Gareth Bale was involved after becoming a father for the third time, and Isco also trained with the main group after recovering from a shoulder injury.
