Luis Rubiales is the new president of the Spanish Football Federation following this evening's election held at the RFEF in Las Rozas, Madrid. The ex-president of the AFE polled 80 votes, beating fellow candidate and former RFEF Treasurer Juan Luis Larrea, who received 56 votes. In total, 137 of the 139 participants taking part in the ballot, cast their vote. The new RFEF president brings to an end almost three decades of Ángel María Villar's reign at the Federation, and will remain in the post until after Euro 2020, the date when the next elections will be called.
