Real Betis coach Quique Setién continues to seek the summer signing of an attacking midfielder who fits his playing style, with Algerian international Ryad Boudebouz far from convincing in his first season at the LaLiga club. Betis have sounded out the possibility of buying Dani Ceballos back from Real Madrid, but it is a deal that the Champions League holders appear likely to take some persuading to do - leading Los Verdiblancos to look at several alternatives.
Óliver Torres eyeing Spain return to relaunch career
According to Diario de Sevilla, one potential target is Atlético Madrid youth product Óliver Torres, who is now at FC Porto. The 23-year-old has not been a regular at the Portuguese champions since joining for 20m euros last summer (in the wake of two loan spells at the Estádio do Dragão), and has been played in a deeper midfield position, rather than his favoured, more advanced role. Torres would be open to returning to Spain in a bid to reignite his career, although Betis would be required to dig deep to make such a transfer happen.
Barcelona's Denis also an option for Betis
Barcelona's Denis Suárez, 24, is experiencing a similar situation to Torres, having also struggled for first-team football following his move back to the Camp Nou from Villarreal two years ago. Betis vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer met with the Catalans last week to enquire about Suárez - once of the Andalusians' city rivals Sevilla - and the availability of other Blaugrana fringe players such as defenders Yerry Mina and Aleix Vidal, and Barça B midfielder Carles Aleñá.
