President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has claimed that Spain are one of his favourites to win the forthcoming 2018 World Cup. He added: "most teams have at least one great player and some are considered the best in the world but Spain has great players in all positions and that is one of the reason whey there were so solid in qualifying for the tournament making it unbeaten in the process of securing a ticket to the World Cup”, explained Putin in a round table meeting with members of the media in the Russian capital.
He added that “the way La Roja played at the 2010 South Africa World Cup was amazing and despite having a poor competition in Brazil, they are one of the favourites for Russia”.
The Spain expedition is expected to arrive at their base in Krasnodar on Thursday, a city where powerful magnate Sergei Galitsky wields much influence. Galitsky is one of the countries richest men and a close friend of president Putin. He is the owner of local top flight side FC Krasnodar and his dream is to take "The Bulls" to the Champions League and if possible with just Russian players and claims to be delighted to have Spain train at Krasnodar's base.
