67'   Italy looking more and more open on the counter. Mancini throwing the catenaccio out the window.

64' That counter attack hurts Italy again. Mbappe drives forward and kind of loses the ball, but he might call it an assist. Dembele curls it in! Lovely finish.

63'   Italy warming up a couple of a subs too.

62'   Lucas Hernandez replaces by Benjamin Mendy.

61'   Italy counter themselves but a poor touch in the box by Berardi lets them down. Chiesa with a poor pass into the attacker.

59'   Goal kick for France.

56'   Just over!

54'   Looks like Berardi will take too.

54' Umtiti shown a yellow card for a foul on Pellegrini. Anthony Taylor hands out the second yellow of the night.

54'   Italy with a chance. Played inside and Pellegrini takes it off Balotelli's toe before France slide in. France counter and Dembele loses it. This is end to end stuff.

52'   So, so close. Italy make a mess of it. Sirigu comes out for the ball and can't get it. Crossed and played to Tolisso but his shot is a whisker wide.

50'   Italy break now with Mandragora but he shoots lowand into Lloris, who does well to get down and gather the ball.

48'   Dembele. He cuts in from the right after a lethal counter attack. He hits the bar! Incredible speed and poise to cut inside selling two defenders with a dummy.

47'   So close again. Kante heads out from the corner. Italy piling on the pressure now with another corner.

46'   Second half is underway and Balotelli nearly scores with a shot across the box. Corner Italy.

45'+2'   HT and it's finishes 2-1. Umtiti and Griezmann give France and 2-0 lead before Bonucci pulls one back for France.

44'   Ball sent deep to the back post and Italy look to have dealt with the trouble.

43'   Hernandez tears down the left hand side and gets stopped by D'Ambrosio and it's out for a corner.

41' That's a yellow for a foul on Dembele. Pellegrini with the foul. Dembele getting chances to turn with the ball and run at Italy's defence. Not a great sign.

41'   Italy on the ball now.

39'   Italy with a free. A bit further out this time. D'Ambrosio sends it in and that's gathered by Lloris.

38'   Lloris takes his time with this one as he launches towards Mbappe.

29' VAR says it is a penalty. Griezmann buries it.

25'   Italy on the ball now but France defending well so far and they break with Dembele. He's flying down the right!

24'   Another Kante foul. He is pushing his luck now looking for a yellow.

23'   France win it back and counter with Griezmann. Mbappe with an effort and that was close.

21'   Griezmann with a ball to Kante and that's just wide by the Chelsea man.

21'   That's a foul. Pellegrini the man who fouls. France with a free-kick.

20'   Italy hodlding onto the but no way through yet.

17'   Nothing comes of it that time though.

17'   Italy down the left hand side with Jorginho and they are starting to build.

15'   Balotelli to take the free and that's blocked by the wall. Italy have to suffice for a throw in the end.

13'   Italy have a free now as Kante with another foul. Caldara fouled this time but it's in a more dangerous position than the last one. No card for Kante.

9'   Griezmann with the free. It was cleared and Pavard picked it up and sent a lovely ball into the back post. Mbappe's shot was blocked and into the path of Umtiti. He pokes it home. No problem!

9' Samuel Umtiti with a goal! France take the lead.

9'  France holding the ball now. Mbappe bundled over with a fairly abrupt tackle. Free now as Griezmann stands over it.

7'   Italy with another throw.

5'   Italy with a free from the left-hand side and France win a throw.

3'   Kante with a foul now as Italy try to build an attack. France defend that one and put it out for a corner.

2'   Early chance, if you could call it that as Dembele and Mbappe link up. Mbape's cross is rejected. Italy get it away.

1'   Anthony Taylor from England gets us underway.

1' We are underway in Nice!

Two teams do emerge onto the field and Italy's national anthem played first.

Two teams actually in the tunnel and ready to emerge onto the field. Balotelli full of smiles. Back playing in Nice where he has played for the last two years.

Two teams out and ready for action now. Not the greatest of crowds but they're making some noise!

Balotelli continues his run in the team - it extends to two games now. I think it's fairly obvious that Mancini is trying his best to build Balotelli's confidence and ensure him that he counts on him!

Dembele, Griezmann and Mbappe start for France! That sounds like a very tasty line-up up front. No target man but they hardly need one with the dynamism and speed.

France vs Italy live stream online: preview

France take on Italy at Allianz Riviera in Nice, France as they look forward to the World Cup after a victory over Ireland during the week, with kick-off at 21:00 CEST. Meanwhile. Italy, who missed out on the tournament in Russia this summer, have a new manager in Roberto Mancini and want to build on their win over Saudi Arabia during the week.

One of the big questions is how Didier Deschamps will set up his side in Russia this year. David Trezeguet says France have everything to win the tournament but they will need to utilise all of their best players. Against Italy, we will get one last look as to what Deschamps is thinking with their first game against Ukraine in the groups stages on 18th June. They also play USA next week but it is thought that Deschamps will rest many of his first-teamers for that game to protect them.

Mario Balotelli came back into the fold with a goal against Saudi Arabia and Andrea Belotti scored in the second half as Mancini got his stint off to a winning start. They are not going to the World Cup and are starting a brand new era. Playing France, who are priming for the World Cup will be a good test as to what Mancini is thinking with his tactics.
