The pre-season is starting to take shape for Barcelona. The players who have not been involved in the World Cup finals are due to report back to work at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Monday 16 July with the first session reserved for the standard medical revisions. The rest of the internationals who have been in action with their respective national teams in Russia will gradually be reincorporated into the squad on their return to Spain.
Barcelona's 2018 summer tour of the United States
Ernesto Valverde’s squad will travel to the United States on Tuesday 24 July, and will spend the first three days at their base in Beaverton, Oregon. Barça have three friendlies lined up during the 12 days of their summer stage in the US – all of the games are part of this year’s International Champions Cup tournament. The LaLaLiga champions will play their first friendly of the summer against Tottenham Hotspur in Pasadena, LA on Thursday 28 July. Three days later, the team will face Roma at the AT and T stadium in Dallas before bringing the US tour to a close with a friendly against AC Milan at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Supercopa and Trofeo Joan Gamper
Boca Juniors have accepted an invitation to be the guests at the LIII Trofeo Joan Gamper, pending confirmation from both clubs. Barça must find a date for the game in what will be a busy August as they also have the Spanish Super Cup games against Sevilla on 5th and 12th of the month with the new LaLiga campaign likely to get underway on 18th August.
