Marcelo, Real Madrid and Brazil left-back, spoke during a press conference on Thursday about his fellow countryman Neymar joining the Spanish giants, insisting that there was no problem with the Brazil striker joining the club while Cristiano Ronaldo was still there. Asked if a possible Neymar move to Madrid depended on Cristiano Ronaldo leaving or not, Marcelo said: "Cristiano isn't the boss of Real Madrid. Just because Cristiano is there, why can't Neymar join? Neymar will always have the doors open at Real Madrid. Madrid always look for the best players. One day Neymar will play at Real Madrid".
Neymar a worthy successor to Cristiano Ronaldo
What's more Marcelo was full of praise for his countryman, saying he was a worthy successor to Cristiano for the Ballon d'Or. "I don't get the criteria for the Ballon d'Or. I don't know if it's about trophies, the season, the quality of the players. It depends on the votes. Whoever gets the most, wins. For me, Cristiano is the best right now, and certainly, Neymar will be equal to Cristiano".
