Antoine Griezmann is set to announce the decision he has made on his future at 21:15 CEST on Thursday night. The Atlético Madrid attacker sent out a teaser trailer late on Wednesday night and announced on Thursday afternoon that the decision would be revealed after the first World Cup game between Russia and Saudi Arabia. He had previously spoken at a French press conference on Tuesday and said that "today is not the day to speak about my future."
Barcelona have been in contact with the French attacker for months and the club almost got in trouble after Guillermo Amor announced on television that there had been contact. Atlético got upset and threatened legal action over the tapping up of their player in an official statement.
Tensions cooled and Atlético got to work trying to convince their talisman to stay. They won the Europa League thanks to a brace by Griezmann in the final. One of the main reasons he wanted to leave was winning trophies, which seems to have been appeased with their success last season.
The decision seems to be Atlético, as AS reported on Wednesday, but there is an element of unknown about what Griezmann plans to do. All shall be revealed, however, on Thursday night.
