Atlético Madrid have been punished by UEFA's Disciplinary Committee for disturbances during last month's Europa League final against Olympique de Marseille.
Stadium ban and fine
UEFA issued a statement today to announce that the Wanda Metropolitano stadium will be partially closed for the club's next Champions League game, corresponding the the MatchDay 1 fixture in the next edition of the tournament. Atlético have been dealt a stadium ban for racist behaviour by fans and for throwing flares and incendiary devices onto the pitch. The Spanish club has been told that it must inform UEFA which section of the stadium will be closed for their first home group stage in September 30 days before the game is scheduled to take place. A 3,000-seat area will be closed to fans and the club have have also been handed a 2,000 euro fine.
