Tunisia goalkeeper Mouez Hassen has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup due to an injured shoulder suffered in Monday’s 2-1 loss to England.
Injured in clash with England's Lingard
The 23-year-old was forced off early on in Volgograd, where he only played for 15 minutes, conceding a goal after making one of the best saves at Russia 2018 so far.
He was injured during a collision with England attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard and was replaced by Farouk Ben Mustapha a couple of minutes later.
Hassen will return to France in the coming hours to recover under the care of the medical staff at his French second division club Chateauroux.
Tunisia won’t be able to call up a replacement, as Fifa rules prevent teams from doing so once their participation in the tournament has already begun.
Belgium up next for Tunisians
The Carthage Eagles play their next game on 23 June at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow against Belgium.
