Luis Enrique has "70 names" in his head for first Spain squad

The new Spain manager, Luis Enrique, says he has 70 names in his head with plenty of players who have never been called up to the national team before.

Luis Enrique already has a date for when he will call his first Spanish squad after taking over from the sacked Julen Lopetegui following an interim role for Fernando Hierro during the World Cup. On August 31st, the Asturian will call his squad to play England and Croatia on the 8th and 11th of September. These games will be played in the new League of Nations with Spain drawn in Group 4 of the competition.

The former Barcelona boss is already thinking about his first squad and said, during his presentation, "In my head, I have a list of 70 player and there will be some who have never been before, others who have played a little and the usuals. Between the World Cup, the preseason and the Super Cups, I have many thing to think of before I start the filtering process."

The follow-up games in the League of Nations are in October 15th when they play England and then November 15th when they play Croatia with a game against Wales in between on the 11th of October.
