New Real Madrid head coach Julen Lopetegui has opted to delete his social-media accounts following his first match in charge of the LaLiga giants.
Real Madrid coach wants to avoid distractions
AS understands that the former Spain boss, who was appointed at the Bernabéu in June, wants to be completely focused on Real's pre-season preparations and avoid any distractions.
After his side's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday, Lopetegui today cancelled his profiles on Twitter - on which he had just over 140,000 followers - and Instagram.
Had used social media to show Benzema support
Though not a prolific poster, the 51-year-old had been known to make his presence felt on social media from time to time.
In July, for example, he published a photo of himself with Real striker Karim Benzema, in what was seen as a public show of support for the oft-criticised Frenchman.
