Sergio Ramos says Real Madrid won't stop winning just because Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club. The club captain spoke ahead of the European Super Cup against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday night in Tallinn and was joined by Marcelo and manager Julen Lopetegui to answer questions before the game.
How do you see the final against Atlético? "It's a privilege every time you play in a European Super Cup. It's a good sign and winning three Champions League, this is the prize. We have a chance to win another title and we are excited for the challenge."
What do you think about Cristiano's comments about Juventus being a family? "Here we have always felt like a family. The key to success is that we have always been, and with him we felt part of that family. The loss of such an important player is negative but that will not stop us from winning. In the past, top players have passed through here and we always keep winning. He will have to leave us to it and Real Madrid will keep going forward, whatever happens we won't stop winning. He decided to make the change and I hope that it goes well for him and for us."
Do you think you need to reinforce the squad with another player? "This doesn't depend on us. The loss of Cristiano is important, but not player can be above this club and badge."
Marcelo also joined Ramos and spoke about the final
Is there a chance you join Ronaldo at Juventus? "I'm not talking about that. We are in a final and I will speak about the final."
Are you ready for the final? "Yes, I am good. We are good and we have players available. Lopetegui has been with us for just a little bit but he is already showing his hand."
The loss of Ronaldo is difficult: "That is a question for Cris, we are good and we are happy with what we have."
Will we have Marcelo for another while? "Marcelo has a contract until 2022, and so, yes."
