Former Barcelona forward Rivaldo is in no doubt about who the No.1 football coach on the continent is, declaring today: "Simeone is the best coach in Europe right now" and advising his old club that they "don't need to sign Paul Pogba".
No need for Pogba at Barcelona - Rivaldo
In an interview with Betfair, Rivaldo gave his thoughts on Barça's dealings in the transfer market this summer and the rumours placing Pogba in the Blaugranas' orbit: "He's a good player, but I don't think Barcelona need him right at this moment. The club has brought in some very good players - like Arthur and Vidal and now it looks like they have a good squad to start the new season", the 46-year-old said.
Good time for Cristiano to move
Rivaldo also opined on the situation at Real Madrid following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure forTurin: "The club's objective is find another Ronaldo. Despite his undeniable quality, he's no longer as young as he once was and this is possibly the best moment for him to move on. If he had waited another year or two, it wouldn't be so easy for him to make such a move. Madrid have made money while their rivals have been investing in new players; that's only been possible because of their recent successes which have given them some margin to take risks".
