Spanish broadcaster Cadena Ser claims that the Ligue 1 side and the player have reached agreement but Atlético are not going to make it easy for PSG.

Filipe Luís’ desire to move to PSG may be irreversible, but the Metropolitano board are not going to let the Brazil international leave Atlético on the cheap. Filipe is expected to start against Valencia in Mestalla on Monday night and the following day club and player will sit down and discuss the situation. By then, though, it may be that the Ligue 1 giants have changed their mind.

PSG reportedly offered five million euros for Filipe, pointing to the fact that he is 33 years old and has only one year left on his contract at Atlético. The Liga club value the player somewhat more luxuriously and have set the negotiating price at 30 million euros, a figure that will probably cause PSG to think twice.

Atlético restricted in search for Filipe replacement

However, Atlético’s valuation is based on more than just Filipe’s standing: if the Brazilian leaves Diego Simeone will have to find a replacement before the transfer window shuts in Spain on August 31 and his shopping options are already limited following the closure of the Premier League and Serie A markets.

That leaves Portugal and France as the most likely sources of a new left back, with Alex Telles (Porto), Álex Grimaldo (Benfica) and Jordan Amavi (Marseille) possible targets.

Atlético could try to get Layvin Kurzawa included in the deal after the 25-year-old PSG full back was restricted to just 12 league appearances last season.
