It was confirmed yesterday that Isco Alcorcon underwent an operation to have his appendix removed. The Benalmadena born player has been given the medical green light this morning but will miss at least a month of playing action and has set the October 28 "El Clasico" as a potential return date as Lopetegui's side travel to Camp Nou.
Former Real Madrid player Luis Figo was quick to offer his support for Luca Modric after the Croatian international was awarded with the prize for "The Best" at a gala ceremony staged at the Royal Festival Hall on London's Southbank last Monday. Real Madrid face a tough task this evening as the travel to the Sanchez Pizjuan in the Andalusian capital. The games have been tight affairs with a winning margin of just one goal being enough for the Andalusian side to record their respective wins.
The game in Seville marks the return of Sergio Ramos to the club where he cut his teeth as a junior player. Sevilla fans have never forgiven the defender for what they deem was "betrayal" when he moved to the Spanish capital in 2005. The player is jeered and booed by a significant section of the Sanchez Pizjuan with former Brazilian and Barça player Rivaldo observing yesterday: "The home fans provoke Ramos to heap pressure and attempt to destabilize him".
