One of the more surprising figures on the balance sheet in the annual report which Barça presented today was the 960 million euros revenue for the 2018-19 season which makes them the club with the highest profit margin in the world. It includes earnings of 131 million in revenue from transfers which means that Barça will need to offload players for that amount next summer.

General Manager Pep Segura, Éric Abidal and Ramon Planes will have their work cut trying to balance the books next summer. Since January this year, Barça have boosted the coffers by selling Deulofeu (13M), Paulinho (50M), Yerry Mina (30.2M), Digne (20.2M), Aleix (8.5M), Marlon (6M), Arnáiz (5M), Alcácer (2.25M on loan) and André Gomes (2m). That income, 137 million euros, obliges Barça to maintain the year-on-year earning from the previous fiscal year, thanks mainly to the tranfer of Neymar, which brought in 228 million euros. The 131 million euro forecast represents a 43 per cent decrease but will prove much harder to achieve in 2019.
